How to Make a Chocolate Ball
Follow these steps to create a delicious chocolate ball using printed containers (molds):
- Prepare the Molds
Spread a thin layer of butter evenly over the inside of the two printed molds. Ensure all interior surfaces are coated to prevent sticking. - Melt the Chocolate
Place chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and melt them, stirring occasionally until smooth. Alternatively, use a double boiler for even melting. - Fill the First Mold
Pour the melted chocolate into one of the buttered molds, filling it slightly above the brim to ensure a solid base. If you’d like to add a candy surprise, place it in the center of the chocolate-filled mold now. - Freeze the First Mold
Place the filled mold in the freezer for 10 minutes to harden the chocolate. - Fill the Second Mold
Remove the first mold from the freezer and place it on the counter. Pour melted chocolate into the second buttered mold, again filling it slightly above the brim. - Combine the Molds
Carefully place the mold with the frozen chocolate on top of the second mold with melted chocolate. Align the molds precisely and press down gently. Some chocolate may overflow, which helps seal the ball. Place the combined molds in the freezer for 30 minutes to set. - Release the Chocolate Ball
Remove the molds from the freezer and place them under warm water for about 1 minute to loosen the chocolate. Gently try to separate one mold from the chocolate ball. If it doesn’t release, place it back under warm water for another 30 seconds and try again. Once one mold is removed, carefully insert a knife along the edge of the remaining mold to release the chocolate ball. - Handle Separated Halves (If Necessary)
If the two chocolate halves separate during removal, place one half back into a mold. Brush a small amount of melted chocolate around the edge of that half, then press the other half on top to seal them. Place the second mold over the chocolate ball and freeze for 10 minutes to set. Repeat the release process (step 7) to remove the ball. Enjoy Your Chocolate Ball
Once the chocolate ball is fully released, it’s ready to enjoy!
