Centilisk organic lamp

The first home decor item we created!

Our approach was to find out how to add organic and fluid shapes into solid and hard edged cubes.

The result: The centilisk lamp

A mix between the simplistic beauty of a monolith and the countless flowing shapes running like water through the design.

This lamp is super easy to print with small amounts of supports!

Our recommendation: Print the main lamp part as slow as possible to get as much of a translucent effect on it as possible. Yes we know! Takes way longer but trust us! The result is worth it.

This what you should start out with. We already glued the little cap to the lamp part.

Step1: Place the plat with the knob inside the base. This will be the button to push that turns the lamp on and off!

It should look like this:

Step 2: Place the ikea Strimsäv lamp in the holder. Make sure to have the bottom of the lamp on the same side as the cut outs from the lamp frame. Make sure that the power connector is free like in the picture below:

Step 3: Put some glue into the cutouts and then attach the frame and the lamp with the the lamp base.  There is a power cable hole located on the back. Make sure that the lamps power input is facing that hole. When done it should look like this:

Step 4: Attach the power cable to the lamp like this:

Step 5: Slide on the lamps top part into the lamps base. The top should be having a tight fit, so dont be afraid to push a little. If there is space between the base and the top part, take it out and turn the top 90 degrees and attach it again. Now it should look like this:

Step 6: attach the edge part to the lamp by applying some glue to it and sticking it on

The result should look like this:

Last step: Attach the cap into the lamps top with some glue and let it dry. You can also leave that spot open or print it with the same filament as the lamps top part. =)

And done is your very own centilisk lamp! Just push the button at the bottom of the lamp and let the beautiful waves play along the light.
