As always: print, build, and have fun designing your own Mario level! 🎨🎮
Bring your inner game designer to life – this modular Super Mario Diorama lets you create your own Mario world from scratch!
Whether as a stylish Switch stand, picture frame, or simply a fun collectible – you can create your very own Mario level just the way you like it.
There are different basis:
A frame for the diorama and one for each for the Nintendo Switch! For the Switch 2 base there is also a pattern on the underside - the cutouts with the iconic question mark symbol provides ventilation.
The main feature of this model: You can build your own Super Mario level using modular elements – currently in classic retro style 🛠️, created especially for the design contest.
For the items you can choose how you wanna print it:
You can also print the characters in two different options:
1️⃣ color changing by layers (Plate one and two) - the quicker way.
2️⃣ AMS - Colors changing in every Layer and it'll take a while, but i wanted the characters to be full-colored, even if ya look from the side.
Just print the parts, arrange the scenerie to your likings, glue them on the plate and your customized Mario Level is done!
Step one:
Print the base, plate and items you want:
Step two:
Arrange the scenerie (and not only because i want to see your level design, but it'll also help you after step 3 - make a pricture! I forgot to take it for the first one, so this one shows the second):
Note: Lower elements can be placed in front of the plate within the base – there is extra space for that.
Clouds, blocks, and other decorations can be glued on or added via negative cutouts in your slicer and slotted in directly.
Step three:
Prepare the items for gluing or like me - you can use doublesided tape! Quite perfect for things like this (and maybe i should add some helping tools for this step, but a simple ruler will also does the job):
Step four:
Glue the items on the plate (a ruler or protractor will also help for this step) and as i mentioned you won't need to glue the parts downside, but it'll help ya for setting the parts not too low by mistake:
Step five:
Your personal Super Mario Level is done - it's all set to be presented and to share the fun with others!
✨ Show me what you’ve built – I’d love to see your custom Mario levels!
I’m always happy to hear your ideas or suggestions on how to improve the set.
Boost MeAnd if you read the full text and still enjoyed the model - i would really appreciate a boost if ya like it :D
The system is designed to be expandable – with more parts coming soon, so you can keep building and personalizing your very own Mario world.
🔧 Planned future updates include:
– Elements from modern Mario games
– Magnetic versions for your fridge
– Even more customization options to make your diorama truly unique
Whether as a diorama, Switch dock, or a picture –💡 Imagination is your only limit – and more is on the way!
