Description
The One Ring is a well-known MTG card sold for ~$70 online. I made this colored 3D printable version without AMS as a gift to a friend and he was amazed. The art turned out very well and the text is legible. Currently exploring other fonts that offer a more readable print at that size, and I'll upload an edit when I find something better. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy showing off this print to your friends that enjoy MTG.
This model requires a .2mm nozzle for the text and several pauses and filament swaps instead of AMS, but you are welcome to replace the pauses with color changes in AMS (If you don't have a .2mm nozzle, the art is printable with a .4mm nozzle. Keep the same layer height (.16 initial, .08 layers) and it'll turn out great). The card prints in three parts to reduce the need for AMS and assembly is simple. I used a couple dots of super glue to attach the frame, then a little more to attach the art when that had dried.
I generated the .stl for the art and simulated the color blending in HueForge, but the rest of the card was made by hand in CAD. I used bambu and overture filaments, basic PLA (I used Sunflower Yellow at layer nine, but any similar yellow would probably work just fine).
Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
