Glass Fuse Holder (5x20, 6x30)

Besides looking good in the renders (I tried!), the holder is functional and has been tested. I mention this because looks and function don't always go together.

Actually, the last few versions involved adjustments of just tenths of a millimeter. To make it perfect.

 

For the smaller holder, I printed a dummy fuse object here – because I simply didn't have the real fuse. I measured the actual dimensions after printing, I didn't just rely on the file dimensions – one dimension needed a small correction.

 

The retaining springs should be movable. Sometimes they work perfectly right after printing, sometimes you need to press them gently. Each should be able to move safely about 1.25mm without damage, so for the larger holder, the total range is 29.5 - 32mm.

1.  Strip the insulation from the wire ends and thread them through the two opposite holes.
2.  Bend and flatten the copper end by hand so it doesn't fall out on its own.
3. Insert the fuse so that it holds the wires and makes contact with them.

The wire hole is 2.5mm.

For smaller fuses, I recommend using jumper wires – after threading, carefully bend the male terminal while holding it in two places.
