08-08-2025: Cubot is released!

Slightly older design from earlier this year…

Do you remember Bakugan? Or those droids from star wars? Inspired by my favorite spinny transformers, I've designed the Orbot V1, a small fellow who rolls, transforms and fidgets! All you need is some pliers and patience of assembly! I've spent a week testing him on my trip to Delhi, and he checks out most of the boxes: travels, folds into small from, rolls, transforms and fascinates people :D

This little guy went through 6-8 iterations to ensure proper joints and fits. Despite some slight issues in the torso, it works quite well now!

I recommend Petg for the frame and pins, with PLA or any other material as the shell. Despite decent success with Numaker PLA+, I don't recommend it.
