Ruler and Caliper Desk Display Holder

Do you have calipers and a steel ruler just sitting on your desk? Put them on display with this functional stand inspired by Japanese sword holders. Not only does it help clean up your desk and put your equipment on display, the stand has been designed to give ergonomic clearance so they're also easier to grab!

This is a quick print and requires no fasteners. Parts slot together with the small wedges holding everything in place securely with friction.

I have included the STEP file for anyone who wants to modify the design to suit their equipment.

I printed the pictured model on an X1C using Bambu Matte White PLA+.

Assembly

Insert the BEAMS into the SIDES as per the image below.

Make sure the small notch on the SIDE is facing inwards.

It is important to do this correctly as the holes in the SIDES have a taper on one face that matches the taper of the WEDGES.

Attach the other SIDE to the BEAMS in the same way.

Push each of the four WEDGES into the gaps in the SIDES, from the outside in.

The WEDGES should slide smoothly and stop when approximately aligned with the end of the BEAMS.

Finger pressure should be sufficient.

The stand is now complete!

You may need to twist it slightly to get it to sit flat. Tweaking the wedges may also help.
