Recommended filament: spring only from PETG* and other materials resistant to mechanical stress (don't use PLA), the rest of the peg can be made of almost anything.

* I used PETG by C-Tech and the spring withstood over 1500 compressions without damage in my tests. If you have a problem with your PETG, it is important to remember that it may require a higher nozzle temperature (usually just increasing the temperature by 10-15°C) or a slower print. In extreme cases, I recommend slightly increasing the extrusion width to make the material more cohesive.
