Description

Bring a piece of Pleistocene history to your desktop with this print‑ready Woolly Mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius) skeleton. Carefully adapted from the open‑access Smithsonian 3D scan, this model has been optimized for the P1S, preserving the scientific accuracy of the original while ensuring a smoother print experience.

Source & Attribution

  • Original scan: Smithsonian Institution 3D Digitization Project
  • Object ID: Mammuthus primigenius “Blumbach” Skeleton (https://3d.si.edu/object/3d/mammuthus-primigenius-blumbach:341c96cd-f967-4540-8ed1-d3fc56d31f12)
  • Modifications:
    • Cleaned mesh & repaired non‑manifold edges
    • Split up model for ease of printing
    • Remeshed for balanced polygon count
    • Reinforced delicate ribs and vertebrae junctions
    • Added clearance between interlocking joints for easy assembly

(Released under the Smithsonian’s CC0 terms - please credit both the Smithsonian and this remix when sharing.)

Total assembled length at 100 % scale: ~250 mm tusk-tip‑to‑tail

Scale ~1:200

I recommend using a 0.2 mm nozzle at this scale or to scale it up by at least 125% for a 0.4 mm one.

For assembly, simply remove the supports, dry-fit the three pieces and then use super glue to attach them.
