3D numbers for AMS Lite (ironically,no AMS needed)

 

Problem 

• Legibility is too low both in terms of color contrast and size
• The default stickers have a silly and ugly typeface, and are stickers
• No solution I found solved the problem I had. I want to be able to quickly glance and be reminded of which spool holder corresponds to which number. 

Solution

• 3D printed 3D numbers
• Color contrast (as you prefer)
• Helvetica Neue - Bold and larger font size

Ironically - no ams needed to print.

 

 

Assembly

 

Put the numbers in the slots on the mount. 

Bonus - The amount of slots in the mount corresponds to the actual number that is to be placed there.

 

 

2 print profiles - depending on the orientation of your AMS lite.

• Original (ams cable pointing up)
• Upside down (ams cable pointing down)

 

Bonus tips

• If you want to be really fancy you can print the numbers on a smooth plate. 
• Be sure to have great bed adhesion since letters are fairly small.

Okey, so you bought a really cool - almost futuristic - machine that can spit out pretty much everything you want. Its magical. Almost surreal when you compare it to the world your parents grew up in. 

You got wifi, facetime, touch screens everywhere and wireless electricity. But you wanted more, you got greedy. It's just human nature, but it ain't pretty. 

So you bought this add-on to your magical machine that feeds that stuff like room tempered butter on a toast. And you love a good toast. 

Some days the experience can make you feel an intense wave of warmth and deep satisfaction within that you wished you once in your lifetime could feel for another human being. 

 

But still. 

You're still sitting there right now with these flappy, lousy, cheap looking stickers(!) - they are fukn laughing at you now - with their tiny numbers that holds a very crucial information that you need pretty frequently. 

Is this really how you imagined it to be, your whole life has now become this thought. A sudden sharp burst of chest pain. Bam, smack, fukk. Ask yourself - does this really reflect the genuine you, or at the least, the version of the persona you so badly want others to see.
