Description
This is a small remix project of a bike chain cleaner that originally used inserted toothbrush heads for scrubbing. I’ve modified the design to better fit how I use it, with a focus on distributing WD-40 more efficiently along the chain while also keeping the cleaning process tidy.
I’m just a hobbyist sharing the models I make in my spare time. You are welcome to use, tweak, or remix it further if it helps you!

I found that the original version, which uses toothbrushes to scrub the chain, wasn’t really effective for me. The bristles I had were too soft, they mostly spread dirt around rather than cleaning it.
However, using WD-40 inside the cleaner had an unexpected benefit: it spread the oil well between the chain links. So I decided to remix the model more toward oil application and cleanup, rather than physical scrubbing.
WD-40 Inlet Hole: A hole was added to the cleaner block so you can spray WD-40 directly onto the toothbrushes and chain.
Dirt & Oil Collector Attachment: I designed a collector that mounts magnetically to the bottom of the cleaner block (6 mm x 2 mm neodymium magnets). This helps catch excess oil and grime.
Place the toothbrush block on top of your chain.
Attach the dirt collector below the chain—it should snap into place with magnets.
Spray a bit of WD-40 into the top of the block.
Move your chain through the setup several times.
You can add more WD-40 and repeat as needed.
When done, remove the collector—any excess oil should now be neatly contained.
This design helps avoid mess on your floor or workspace and still ensures the chain gets oiled well. It’s a cleaner, simpler way to keep your bike running smoothly, especially if you're more into function than scrubbing.
