4.5x20 sediment filter backflush plate

This may, and I believe will, fit other systems not sold by Aquasana; I will list dimensions below and you can check your system before printing. I designed this plate to be fitted in place of the sediment filter housing in order to backflush the carbon filter on my Aquasana whole home well water filter. The way the system was designed, I can isolate the filters, install this plate with a garden hose attached, and use the filter bypass line to backflush accumulated sediment and debris out of the main carbon filter.

Center hole printed for ¾" NPT to ¾" GHT (Standard US garden hose). IT IS TIGHT! However, there is a generous chamfer leading in. Apply pipe dope and send it, DO NOT TEST FIT ¾" ADAPTER!!! NPT threads are tapered, installing and removing will result in looser fit.

Note: There is NO o-ring groove, do not send full water pressure to this plate. It WILL leak and may explode!!! 1-2 gpm of flow resulted in the occasional trickle that a bath towel would take care of. I don't want this to seal that well, I want it to start leaking when pressure builds up so that the print doesn't fail catastrophically and injure anyone. Hand snug and when it leaks, close the valve some. I'm not an engineer and I've done zero stress analyses on this part but it worked fine for me.
