Description

My head is not flat on top like most hat stretchers.  I find that when I use a traditional stretcher on my hats, it leaves a dent and looks bad.  I made this hat shaper/stretcher to mimic the shape of a human head.  The stretched hat fits better and is more comfortable and natural looking.

Use this if your head is rounded:

This prints in two plates.  The plate with the domes and the plate with the nut and tool.  The tool is barely needed as the screw turns easily.  If you need the tool to turn the nut you may want to steam your hat a bit first.

I printed this in PLA and in ASA and I like it in PLA better.  There is a bit more give in the PLA for cowboy hats so they can curve naturally.  Use PETG, ABS or ASA if you plan to steam your hat while it is in the stretcher.  I have steamed hats with the PLA in place and not had any issue, but I do use steam sparingly.

There is an intentional bit of texture with fuzzy skin to the outside band on the stretcher.  This is to help hold the form in place when tightening the nut.

Overly Confusing Assembly Instructions:

The screw threads on the front and back are mirror images of each other.  The nut is similarly threaded with one side counter clockwise.  If you try to screw the nut clockwise onto one dome and it does not work, try the other dome.  If it still does not work, try the other side of the nut.  When you have the nut screwed onto one dome, screw the other dome into the nut counterclockwise.

Boost MeI love boosts!  They make my head swell and I get to use my hat stretcher even more!
