Boost MeI love modelling functional parts for cars, but it takes a lot of time and test prints to get the right fit. If you appreciate my work or use my part, consider boosting me for free of charge <3
Idea
I always put my phone there anyways so I thought a wireless charger would be awesome in this little cubby. I looked online but only found some expensive, bulky stuff that also used the 12v port but I didn't like that idea so I created this part. It replaces the little rubber part for holding miscellaneous stuff in the front of the center console.
Because it uses magsafe it also holds the phone in the perfect position.
(If you do not have an apple phone there are magsafe cases for a lot of phone nowadays)
The magsafe charger costs around 10€. They are sold under a lot of different names. I just used the cheapest I could find.

Installation
before installation:
- Pass the usb plug of the charger through the opening in the back and pull the entire cable through.
- Then press the magsafe charger into place and route the cable in the cable channel.
- Now you can test if your phone/case is compatible and lighs flat on the part. If its not please give me message and we will find a solution.
Preperation the Car:
- Remove the original rubber part by inserting a credit card or similar into the crease between the rubber and console. This part is just held in by friction.
- Remove the cover that holds the usb port by pulling on the bottom of the part until it releases and sliding it downwards. I advise you to watch a youtube video if you never did it. There is not much that break here but be careful anyways.
- remove the Usb Port by carefully bending the holding arms outwards and pulling the port out. This is where we plug our wireless charger in. This Port will no longer be available.
Installation in the Car:
- Put in the Usb cover where you removed the usb port from. You may need to secure the arms by putting a zip tie around it but it should not be necessary.
- Install the magsafe charger cubby where you removed the original rubber part. It should hold by friction but you can use some double sided tape to hold it even more securely.
- Plug the wireless charger into the usb port that should hang free behind the dashboard and stow away the unused cable length behind the dashboard. You may want to use a zip tie to make it more tidy but nobody will see it.
- Reinstall the dashboard piece where the usb port used to be in and you are finished. Have fun with your magsafe wireless charger for your bmw f30.
