Fast filament feeder/puller cube

This is a filament feeder/puller, which I am using for a while and it works great.

Since Teaching Tech announced a brilliant version of a tool with the same function yesterday, I thought to share mine version too, which has less complexity and parts.

UPDATE 5 Apr 2026

I have modelled an add-on for this cube, which makes it easy to hold while feeding the filament.

It looks like this (the black part):

Follow this link to find it: Hand holder attachment for my filament feeder cube

Shopping list: 4 (four) M11x2.4 O-rings (That’s it!)

Printing:

Please print in PETG and the orientation has to be as is in the 3mf file.

There will be lots of supports and they are easy to remove. But sand down the places where the support touched gently with some DIY files.

Add 2 O-rings on each shaft and assemble the parts with the pins, as in the picture below. Note that either base can accept any shaft.

On the above step please select the best 4 pins from the selection of the pins you have printed, so they are not too tight and not too loose either inside the slot.

The reason for printing 4 sizes is because each time I was test printing the model, the top bridges were slightly different.

They are tiny and I made 4 of each (16 in total), so you have the full set - from small to large.

The two assembled parts clips on and off from the two handles on the side (see the pencil).

You can now either attach/enclose the parts to the filament (1st pic), or clip the parts first and add the filament from the side, where the chamfer is. I thought it would be good to have both options.

You can use any electric screwdriver (with HEX end) to push or pull the filament through now.

I hope this tool will help you with your projects.
