Iron Man‑Inspired Arc Reactor Faceplate (Easy Two‑Piece, No Supports)
This faceplate was designed for anyone looking for a simple, clean Iron Man–styled decoration — not an overly complex arc reactor model. I didn't have access to a large printer or an AMS, so it's been optimized for small printers and support‑free printing.
🚀 Key Features:
- Easy, support‑free printing, perfectly suited for smaller build plates.
- Two separate parts, printed flat and individually—no need for AMS or multi‑color hardware.
- Fully customizable colors: just choose your own filament for the black ring and translucent diffuser.
- Lower white disc is translucent and ideal for mounting an LED behind to make it glow like the cinematic version.
- Snaps together — the black and white pieces interlock securely, but if you need to separate them later, handle them with care.
💡 Why I made this version:
I needed a minimalist Iron Man decoration that's quick to print and works on a compact 3D printer, without the complexity of typical arc reactor models on Maker World. It’s streamlined and practical—no need for extra parts or complex assembly.
🧩 Assembly & Usage:
- Print each piece individually in standard orientation—no supports required.
- Select your colors freely for both parts.
- To illuminate: place a small LED (e.g. single white or small RGB) behind the translucent disc for a glowing effect.
- Be gentle when separating the black and translucent parts — the snap‑fit is snug.
⭐ Ideal For:
- Simple desktop décor
- Minimal cosplay accents
- Ambient lighting projects
