Description
This 3D printed glowing jellyfish is a mesmerizing fusion of art and technology. Crafted with translucent, flexible transition PETG from Greengate3D, the jellyfish features delicate, flowing tentacles and a softly domed bell designed to mimic the gentle movements of a real jellyfish. Inside the bell, an RGB submersible tea light creates a radiant glow that diffuses beautifully through the material. Perfect as a night light, desk ornament, or ambient decor piece. Whether suspended from the ceiling or perched on a display stand, it adds a calming, bioluminescent vibe to any space — evoking the mysterious elegance of the deep sea in a uniquely modern form.

I used 15lb monofilament aka fishing line because its what I already had laying around. Definitely can get away with lighter line to hang your jellyfish as doesn't weigh much.
I wanted to test the print out in Glow PLA and found that the inner body/bell was a bit large. It CAN be done but does require a bit of force to fit it inside the main bell. It seems that PETG lends itself better due to its increased flexibility over PLA. To remedy this I created a print profile with a slightly smaller inner body/bell. This along with a slightly wider top opening allowing for a more “free floating” inner body.
This print profile is in vase mode. It is thinner than the original model. Feel free to substitute this in place of the original if you find the fitment is too tight a fit or if you just prefer a more free floating, thinner inner body/bell.
I also found remote controlled tea lights that are the same dimensions so that you can turn the lights on and off.
Does not scale well due to thin walls to allow the LED light to diffuse through the model.
