Description
this is the time machine rubiks cube. the core was designed by CZJ studios.
. it can supposedly be solved intuitively as long as you can solve a 2x2 rubiks cube though it will take a very long time.
. it has over a googol combinations (1 followed by 100 zeros)
. I calculated the number of combinations by multiplying the number of combinations on a regular 2 by 2 cube by the number of combinations of all 72 number pieces
if you're curious it has this many combinations
3674160 * 72! = 224,985,197,590,019,784,903,137,278,446,760,791,597,257,233,711,663,538,259,203,168,660,050,822,984,650,441,863,709,956,505,600,000,000,000,000,000 (2.24 *10^109)
though, because each face can be rotated 12 times, 2,985,984 of these combinations could be considered solved states meaning there is actually 7.442 *10^102)
how to print and assemble:
use 0.4mm nozzle
use high precision slicing software (or you may have to sand slightly)
use 6 colors (internal mechanism can be any color as it will not end up being visible)
some pieces will require supports but most won't (it should be obvious which ones do and don't)
to assemble, clip the center pieces into the core
then slide in the corner and edge bits to form this shape
afterwards, clip in the final center piece onto the top of what you have
finally, slide the numbers around the corner pieces to form 24 of these small modules. Depending on the precision of your slicing software you may need to sand pieces slightly to ensure smooth rotation of pieces
attach them to the corner pieces to form rings of 12
