⚠ IMPORTANT NOTE before you hit “Print”!

Don't remove negative parts! Use whatever support style works best for you — in my case, I went with tree supports for a cleaner, magical finish, but depending on your printer, settings, and filament, this can be risky. The safest choice is snug supports — just be prepared for a little patience when removing them. Trust me, once you get them off… you’ll feel like you’ve just won the Triwizard Tournament!

This isn’t just any lamp — it’s THE Sorting Hat from the Harry Potter universe, brought to life as a glowing centerpiece for your desk or shelf. I printed mine with 15% gyroid infill to keep it sturdy while letting the light shine through like a true piece of wizardry.

The model contains two intentional negative spaces:

  1. A USB port opening for the Bambu Lab LED, so the magic can flow in.
  2. An internal socket space where the LED mount piece fits snugly, holding your light steady like a loyal house elf.
  3. Negative part for getting an open mouth so the light can bright through it.

Don’t remove these negative pieces unless you’re brewing up your own design changes — they’re part of the spellwork!

💡 Pro tip for LED installation: when passing the LED’s power switch through the USB port hole, press the on/off button down to help it slip through — as if whispering “Alohomora” to the hat.

Once lit, this Sorting Hat casts an enchanting glow, ready to declare whether you belong in Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin. With a little patience and a dash of magic, you’ll have a “Glow Within” creation worthy of the Hogwarts Great Hall! ✨🪄
