Geode LED Lamp Crystal Illusion Glow

Illuminate your space with this 3D printed geode-inspired lamp. Designed to mimic the natural beauty of a cracked stone geode slice, this model turns simple filaments into a mesmerizing light display. Perfect for makers who love experimenting with colors and textures, it’s compatible with Bambu Lab printers, easy to customize, and takes less than 8 hours to print both the geode and outer shell.

Key Features:

• Unique Design: The lamp features a geode-like structure with internal lightning infill “cracks” that diffuse light, creating a warm, natural glow.
• Simple Assembly: No tools required! Just attach a Bambu LED Light Kit 001 (or any similar LED puck-style light) to the base. Move your geode slice into place, and you're all set.
• Modular Fun: Print multiple geode styles and switch them out whenever you want for a fresh look.
• Filament Freedom: Use a combination of filaments for the best effect. Mix opaque and translucent types to enhance the crystalline illusion. Experiment with colors and textures—gold silk PLA paired with orange translucent gives an amber-like shine, while Bambu Lab’s green transparent filament evokes jade. The possibilities are endless! 

 

Tip: For best light diffusion, the first color printed in the geode (closest to the plate in SLOT 2 on the 3mf file) should be transparent filament (I recommend any of the Bambu transparent filaments - they looked great in test prints).

Printing Instructions:
***Important: Follow these instructions carefully for the best results. Do not adjust the print profile settings, as they are optimized for success. Proper extrusion calibration and bed leveling are crucial to avoid failures. The infill may look weird and stringy while printing. If that stresses you out, this might be one to print overnight.

• Supports: None required.
• Infill: Use lightning infill pattern in the print profile at 20% or more—this creates the natural cracked stone appearance inside the geode.
• Layer Height & Speeds: Stick to the provided profile defaults, or try slowing your print if you're having issues.
• Material Recommendations: Mix filaments for more striking results. Translucent/transparent filaments recommended for geode. For outer shell, matte and matte tri-color filaments produced great results.

Print time is approximately 7-8 hours depending on your setup. Once printed, pop in your LED light and enjoy the glow!
