Description
The Saab 35 Draken was a Swedish supersonic fighter aircraft introduced in the 1960s, designed to defend Sweden’s airspace during the Cold War. Recognizable by its unique double-delta wing shape, it was highly maneuverable and capable of reaching speeds over Mach 2. Equipped with cannons, air-to-air missiles, and later ground-attack capabilities, the Draken was versatile and reliable, serving not only in Sweden but also with Austria, Finland, and Denmark. It was Europe’s first operational supersonic fighter and played a key role in shaping modern Scandinavian air defense.
