Description
I've got little kids and a mesh screen door to the backyard, and since they cannot reach the plastic handle that adults use, they just wedge their little fingers into the edge where the mesh meets the frame, which over time leads to tears and holes in the screen door.
I designed a simple handle to put at their height, that I attached with a 3M Command Strip. On our screen door, the mesh is closer to flush on one side vs. the other, so there are two handles in this design that are slightly different, with one having a deeper “step” between the frame and the mesh so that the two halves “meet” when mounted on either side. Feel free to modify this design to meet your needs, or print two versions of the same handle.
Note: you could also modify the design to include screw holes and attach that way as well if you are looking for a more permanent solution, but that would require drilling through the frame.
