What it does

This clip creates a small gap that improves airflow to keep the bin drier and less attractive to flies. When maggots are ready to pupate, they naturally want to leave and find dry soil; The gap lets them crawl out instead of staying trapped inside to multiply. The result is a cleaner bin with fewer flies and less odor.

 

Designed for European standard NEN-EN 840-1 garbage bins. I tested and adjusted the fit on 10 different bins to ensure it works on average.

Regional note

Works best in moderate climates. If you have raccoons, bears, or extreme humidity, this might attract more problems than it solves.

Installation

Slide the clip under the edge of the bin rim so the bottom hook grabs underneath. Press the top hook over the lid's lip to secure it in place.
