Yes, you are seeing it right, a clock that appears to be melting in mid air and pooling down on the table!
Whether you go for a flashy color combo (I used pink silk and black PetG on a galaxy build plate) or for a more classic look (I used PLA sparkle black and lasercut Basswood), it will surely grab the attention and start a conversation.
But this one truly stretched my abilities! Normally I use SolidWorks for my designs but for this one I added some sculpting in the mix with SculptGL, I highly recommend this free web based software!
The clock can be printed without any supports, from the pool, up through the drips to the melting clock, all in one go.
For the dial, just print out (effect sheet recommended) or lasercut (click here for the lac/svg) and stack them together.
This is the perfect fit for the Bambu clock mechanism (I painted the hands white) but I also pulled one from an old clock (see photo) and both seem to fit, they both have a footprint of about 56mmx56mm.
Have fun with this quirky clock design and please don't forget me to show your color combo's!
Happy printing!
