Product Overview

This is a forked / “open top” version of my full-cover knob guard. The rigid forks help reduce hip bumps and kid/pet swipes while the center stays open so you can see and grab the knob fast. It uses a base + forked lid with a hinge that “parks” upright when opened.

What this is

• Two-piece guard (base + forked lid) for front-control ranges
• Designed around Samsung front-control layout; may fit others with similar spacing
• Open top allows quick glance at On/Off and easy finger access
• Requires adhesive to mount the base

Why this version

• Better visibility than a full cover
• Less plastic near heat
• Quick access to the knob

What’s included

• Base.stl
• ForkedLid.stl (or lid file in the 3MF)

Install (adhesive required)

• Clean the stove face with isopropyl alcohol and let dry
• Apply small 2–3 mm adhesive dots/squares to the back of the base (keep adhesive inside the perimeter)
• Press firmly 30–60 seconds and let the adhesive cure per the product instructions before normal use

Printing

• Material: PETG recommended near heat (ASA/ABS also OK)
• Smooth plate finish helps it seat better
• No supports recommended (as designed)

Assembly (IMPORTANT)

Warning: Do NOT press the lid straight down onto both hinge barrels at the same time — you can crack the hinge holder.

Snap one side first:

1. Hold the base steady
2. Align and snap the lid hinge onto one side
3. Repeat on the other side

Notes & tips

• Verify clearance around neighboring knobs before sticking it down
• If fit is tight/loose: small XY scaling changes (±1%) can help
