Description
I really wanted to make a “3D” Key Cover for the contest and these designs meet that goal!
The 4 Cuts Featured are:
Some of these cuts were quite difficult to replicate and even then, not all of them are prefect replication of the different cuts. There really are sooo many more (I had no idea) different Jewelry Cuts for diamonds / stones.
Careful attention was given to the print profile for this design as well. I must have printed “gems” 20+ times to get the overhang / speed / % infill / etc. In the end I am pretty happy with the results!
Different Translucent PLA filaments were used for each of the sample prints pictured.
The Key Covers were primarily designed to hold either Kwikset or Schlage shaped keys* since these were the most common on my keychain. The Key covers should be glued together using the alignment pins.

UPDATE 8/26: SMALL KEY ADAPTER ADDED!
I did get a couple requests to make this key cover smaller for smaller keys. In the end, I found a solution that works:

Just download this print profile from above and once it has printed, place it in any of the Large key holders and your small round key should fit in perfect!*
*fitment note: a quick note about the “fit” of the key(s):
I tried my best to make the keys fit snug / secure… and in some cases, it was 😁 In other cases, it was loose 😒 I found so many variations from key to key, originals, copies, etc. I finally had to give up making adjustments and settled on the fitment that worked the best for most of my sample keys. If you have a specific size / shape that is needed, please hit me up and I will do my best to get one working for you!
