Greek Torch Lamp

This 3D printed lamp is inspired by the grandeur of ancient Greece, recalling the sacred flames that burned in temples and the eternal fire that later became the symbol of the Olympic Games. It is designed to combine the elegance of classical architecture with the functionality of modern lighting, making it both a decorative and symbolic piece.

The lamp is composed of four main parts: the base, the column, the bowl, and the flame. Together, they evoke the image of a Greek altar, where stone pillars once supported offerings to the gods. The flame, printed in a translucent material, diffuses the light evenly, creating the effect of an eternal fire that represents purity, divinity, and power.

 

For the print, I used PLA Marble White, PETG Translucent Clear (or PLA Basic White as an alternative), and PLA Silk+ Gold. These materials give the lamp the appearance of carved stone with golden accents, while ensuring a smooth and warm glow when illuminated. The lamp is designed to work with the Bambu Lab LED strip kit, which enhances the diffusion of light through the translucent flame.

 

During the design process, this project initially started as a “Zeus Thunderbolt Lamp,” but for technical and aesthetic reasons it evolved into a Greek Flame Lamp — a model that captures the spirit of Greek mythology while offering a timeless decorative piece. Every detail, from the proportions of the column to the flowing shape of the flame, has been designed and modeled by me from scratch.

 

To ensure the best assembly experience, the model is designed in such a way that supports are very easy to remove, requiring minimal post-processing. Once printed, the parts need to be glued together to achieve the final structure, making the lamp solid and stable.
