This wall lamp is an exploration of how light and material interact, turning a simple design into something alive and evocative. Inspired by the universal symbol of the eye, I created two versions:

 

• Human Eye – with a round pupil, symbolizing depth and intensity.
• Cat Eye – with a vertical pupil, evoking the mysterious elegance of feline vision.

 

The iris was digitally sculpted in an organic style to achieve realistic details and a vibrant texture. The prototype is printed in black PETG HF, chosen for its ability to reflect light and create striking contrasts.

 

 

 

🔹 Customization ideas:

 

• Use translucent filaments for ethereal effects and mesmerizing light diffusion.
• Hand-paint the iris with metallic paints, apply gold leaf, or experiment with textured paints (cement-style finish).
• Try textured filaments such as marble, wood, or stone effects to transform the lamp into a sculptural décor element.
• Mix materials and colors to adapt the lamp to your own style and environment.

 

When illuminated, the lamp feels alive: light passes through and reflects across the surface, creating a futuristic and almost magical atmosphere—like a watchful gaze glowing in your room.

🔧 Required parts & assembly notes:

• 1 × E14 bulb (total length ~60 mm)
• 1 × E14 lamp holder with base size 22 × 58 mm (the bulb + socket together should be ~70 mm in total height)
• 9 × BT3 Button Head Cap Self Tapping Screws (BHCS)
• 1 × Power cable with integrated switch (for easier connection)
• 2 × WAGO connectors to join the wires safely

 

⚙️ IMPORTANT - Technical Note

• The iris must be inserted from one side and pressed firmly into place inside the main body. The fuzzy skin texture adds extra thickness, reducing tolerance but ensuring a secure fit. This way, the iris can still be removed later by gently prying it with a small flathead screwdriver at the circular joint with the main body.

  If the fuzzy texture is not used, it may be necessary to glue the iris in place.

   

• The pupil should be screwed onto the central bracket. At the open lower end of the bracket, insert the tension ring into its dedicated groove — no glue is required, it holds by itself.

  Finally, the entire assembly is press-fitted into the central cylinder of the main body, allowing adjustment of both depth and tilt to achieve the desired position.
