Description

Save my vic is a fan attachement that I designed to put a 40x40mm fan over the VIC-II video chip used in the commodore 64. Its purpose to cool the chip down and increase its lifespan.

you can use a 12 or 5 volt fan, even if you use a 12 volt fan it has sufficient cooling.

In order for tahat to work you need to remove the original heatsink/shield that commodore put there and put at least 2 15x15mm heatsink there. also you need to put a diode in series with the fans + input wire to prevent and back current.
