Description
I'm really excited to share this 3D-printed model I created for Woodpac9 based on his community forum post:
As a veteran myself, this emblem is a great representation of the strong American Patriotism that all Veterans command within.
Â
Disclaimer - I have not printed this. I do believe that there will be no issues so long as you have enough colors available.
Â
—it's a lightbox shaped like the official emblem of the American Legion. The design is rich with symbolism and I wanted to make sure that came through in the physical model.
Â
The central part of the emblem is a five-pointed star, representing honor, glory, and the service of our veterans. The "U.S." at the center of the star stands for the United States, symbolizing the Legion's dedication to our country. Surrounding the star are two golden wreaths, which represent the sanctity of the Legion's principles of justice, freedom, and democracy.
Â
The outer circle is a deep blue, representing loyalty and the constant, unfailing support of the American Legion for its members and the nation. The words "AMERICAN" and "LEGION" are emblazoned on this ring in bright gold, clearly identifying the organization. The entire emblem is framed by a bold sunburst pattern of alternating golden and reddish-brown points, which signifies the organization's patriotism and willingness to serve.
Â
I designed this model to be a lightbox, which I think adds another layer of meaning. The internal light brings the emblem to life, illuminating each symbolic element and serving as a beacon of the values the American Legion upholds: caring for veterans, promoting patriotism, and ensuring a strong national defense. It's a tribute to all who have served, and I'm proud of how it turned out.

Ooh-Rah Devil Dogs!

If 10 colors are too many. It can be simplified a bit more at the expense of accuracy and detail.
