⚡ About the Statue:
Discobolus is a famous ancient Greek sculpture by Myron (c. 450 BC) depicting a discus thrower in a moment of dynamic tension before releasing the throw.
⚡ About the Design:
🔹 The statue of discobolus stands gracefully within a circular Doric style temple.
🔹 The walls and the top are decorated with meander (Greek key) relief patterns 🌀, a symbol deeply rooted in Greek culture.
🔹 Includes a slot from behind for an electronic tealight candle , bringing the temple to life with a warm glow.
🔹 Printed in two easy parts (the temple + the top). Just a few drops of glue are enough to assemble it.
please remove carefully the supports so no to brake something of the print especially for his left hand.
🔹 Designed with minimal supports for hassle-free printing.
🔹 Size: ~17cm tall – perfectly printable both on 255mm beds and smaller A1 mini beds (180mm).
🌿 Greek Mythology Touch:
Hyacinthus and Apollo:
In one of the most famous examples, the god Apollo accidentally killed his beloved Hyacinthus when a discus he threw struck the youth fatally.
Other Mythical Deaths:
The discus also features in other myths, like the accidental killing of Acrisius by Perseus during the funeral games for Polydectes.
💡 Personal Note:
As a proud Greek , I’m really excited to participate in this Greek mythology design contest. This project is my way of honoring our cultural roots, and if it gathers attention, I’ll keep expanding the series with more gods and goddesses in their own temples.
