Description
I've always enjoyed looking at all the various star constellations at night, so the first thing I thought of for the Greek Mythology contest was all of the celestial zodiac constellations and thought they would look great in a lightbox! I went ahead and added all the names & symbols as well.
To help make the constellations & symbols more visible I chose to print the “walls” of those cutouts (insets) with silk gold/white filament. This really makes the designs super visible, even without the light!
After trying the USB powered MH001 light kit, I felt it might be a little too bright, so I added a small inset for one of the KC020 remote operated LED lights.
If you choose the small KC020 light, I would recommend using some double sided tape to hold it in place.
To assemble the lightbox, just print all 3 pieces and snap them together. I included the small “brick” part to help block out light from escaping the box where the USB plug & control panel have to leave the lightbox. The large Zodiac Circle should (loosely) snap into the lightbox. This was done so you could rotate the Zodiac Circle to your preferred orientation.
While the Zodiac Circle does loosely “snap” onto the front of the lightbox, it is fairly loose! If you find it to fall out too often, you may want to glue the front in place.
There was also a small cutout on the back of the lightbox to hang it somewhere if you like!
If you have any feedback, please feel free to share! I often adjust my model with YOUR feedback, so I love to hear from you!
