Description
There is now a Version 2 of this model. Instead of attaching the coax to the side of the reel before reeling it in, the new model allows you to attach it to the hub. This model is totally functional, however, I prefer the V2 personally. It is at: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2466967-version-2-pota-coax-winder-60-of-rg58#profileId-2708237
Note: A print profile has been added that will retain the end of the coax on the reel.
While this can be used for any purpose, it's handy for a quick deployment and pack-up with POTA.
It will comfortably coil 60 feet of RG-58.
Assembly: use a couple dots of super-glue to keep the reel together. Also use super-glue on the handle, just be sure you don't use so much that you glue the handle to reel.
Use a 4mm bolt to hold the handle on. Note: FreeCAD isn't great at threaded holes. It works much better if you use a 4mm tap on the handle before attaching it.
Printing:
You need to add a brim to the washer and knob plate before printing.
I printed in extra-draft mode because I didn't care about fine detail.
I've printed in both PLA and PETG, though PETG makes it less of a concern about leaving it in sun.
