Description
Normally i wouldn't make and post something like this, but I needed to do something to channel the emotions I am feeling. I do not want this page to become political. I don't want to discuss here, who is at fault, what laws should be changed, why something he said was or wasn't correct. The only thing i want is to remember Charlie.
If your reading this then, you probably know who Charlie Kirk is or have at least heard of him. I won't pretend he was loved by all but he was loved by many many people. Tragically, his life was cut short yesterday when someone who disagreed with his opinions decided to kill him.
Charlie was passionate about what he did. He was committed to helping people understand his position. He never forced people to participate in his debates but he also never held back once the debate began. He almost always had a counter argument and on the rare times when he was unquestionably wrong about something, he would admit it.
In the ever polarizing world of politics and ideology, Charlie believed that when people didn't have the ability to argue and debate differences in opinion, that is when things would turn violent. Charlie's mission was to facilitate those discussions. He had a view of the world and if you disagreed, then come and debate it. It was in the middle of one of these debates, surrounded by hundreds or even thousands of people, that someone attacked.
Charlie has left behind a wife, and two small children who will grow up without a father. Children so small, that even the memory of their dad will fade into hazy oblivion. The world will never forget this man but his children will never remember him. Everything they will ever know about their father will be second hand information.
I lift up a prayer for Charlie's family, that they may find peace and comfort in the shattered reality. I lift up a prayer for those that hate him, that you may find peace. I lift up a prayer for those who loved him, that the heartache of this tragedy will not turn into more hatred and violence. I lift up a prayer for our country, that this life lost will not be a bridge burnt and a widening divide.
