Summary
Introducing Wide Mouth Mason Lids (closed and piggy bank) — a clean, functional 3D printed lid that transforms any wide-mouth mason jar into a practical coin bank, item collector, storage, or organization.

These lids are NOT recommended for liquids because there is no seal. If enough people request a TPU seal I could design one.

Materials and Size
This lid prints well in PLA for general indoor use or PETG for extra durability and heat resistance. I used Sunlu PLA+ because it consistently prints easily and reliably.

  • Inner diameter (thread fit): 3.38 inches (86 mm)
  • Outer diameter: 3.775 inches (95.9 mm)
  • Height: 0.745 inches (18.9 mm)
  • Slot size: 1.18 inches (30 mm) long x 0.2 inches (5 mm) wide

Print Settings

  • Infill: 20% is plenty, though you can increase it for extra rigidity
  • Supports: Not required
  • Layer height: 0.2 mm for a smooth, clean finish
  • Walls: 3 or more perimeters recommended for strength

The Story
I designed this lid because my daughter loves collecting the family’s soda can tabs. We needed a simple, secure way to store them, and a wide-mouth mason jar was the perfect solution. After a few design iterations, this lid fit perfectly and turned into a fun, practical project we now use every day.

25/12/6 update

The closed lid print profile was added after a reviewer commented that he didn't need the slit on the top.
