Bugle V2

This is a printable version of a vintage bugle that plays remarkably well. Check the comments!

There are 3 versions of the Bugle available, depending on the printer that you have and the type of Bugle that you want.

• Bugle Vx H2x.3mf print profile can was printed as a full scale version of an antique bugle that a friend gave me. It can be printed on a H2x printer or a printed on a printer that has a Z height of at least 294cm. This version is printed Bell down to minimize the surface effects of using supports.
• The Bugle X1c, Pxx, A1 0.85 Vx.3mf print profile is scaled to 85%, which can be printed on an X1C, P1x or A1 printer, or a printer that has a Z height of at least 250cm. This version is printed Bell down to minimize the surface effects of using supports.
  Note that the scaled down version will play at a slightly higher pitch.
• The Bugle V2 P1S Full Size tilted.3MF print profile tilts the full size verion of the Bugle so it can be printed on a P2S, P1x or A1 printer. The trade-off is print time and surface quality vs. pitch. The supports that are used to hold it in position cause some of the surfaces to be rougher than if the horn is printed Bell down. Look at the pictures in then 3MF file for the surface quality issues. Note that this version will play at the same pitch as the Bugle Vx H2x.3mf print profile.

For the all versions, I recommend buying a commercial 7C mouthpiece, which these models are compliant with. I used this one from Amazon; https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P2EKMFC. It is well made, works great and is not expensive.
I found the plastic mouthpiece to be hard on the lips, no matter how much I sanded it. But it will let you try out the bugle until a real mouthpiece arrives.

The H2x version is 294mm tall, so it is too tall to be printed on printers with a 256mm Z range, e.g., an X1C, P1x or A1. The scaled version is ~250mm tall.

Note: If you don't want to use my print profile, use Bambu Studio to extract the STL Files. Then use the support painting feature to kill any supports generated inside the tubes of the bugle.
