Modern Retro Art Deco Clock

This “modern retro” art deco clock was inspired by a clock my German friend inherited. It's whimsical and just the right size to fit a MakerWorld clock kit (or equivalent from Amazon). You can use the included art-deco inspired hands, or choose to use different hands. The parts are made to fit together easily and can be secured with super glue.

 

Important note: You may need to deburr the hole where the clock mechanism is after printing. I use a small nail file to do so. Do NOT scale the clock body down further as this is the smallest it can be for the clock to fit inside.

 

Tips and tricks: 

• The clock components are organized by single color, other than the face. The face prints in 2 colors and requires AMS. For a no-AMS version, simply make the face 1 color and paint the raised numbers.
• You can print the clock body with a higher layer height to save time, if you choose
• Play with different filaments - color-changing, tri-color filament, silks for “metal” accents
• Mix and match plates - you can move the parts around and print them in different colors. Mix and match the components however you like

There is no back panel to the clock, because the back is usually facing a wall. The second hands in the photographs were not 3d printed, they came with my clock kits.
