The Portable Phone Stand (UPDATED VERSION)

Thank you all for the incredible feedback on the original Foldable Phone Stand! I design these tools for makers on the move, and your real-world testing is invaluable. I noticed a few of you were having issues with the print-in-place joints fusing, specifically the front phone-rest flap getting permanently stuck to the layers above it. I have reworked the model to fix this.

What's New in the Update?

• Fixed Flap Fusion: The biggest issue some of you faced was the phone-rest flap fusing with the geometry directly above it during printing, locking it in place. I have adjusted the vertical clearances to ensure a clean, physical separation, allowing the flap to fold down freely straight off the build plate.
• Improved Overall Tolerances: Alongside the flap fix, I have fine-tuned the clearances on all print-in-place hinge points. The entire stand should now break free much easier and operate smoothly.
• New "Mini" Version: Designed for smaller phones, This version is sized to fit on the Bambu Lab A1 Mini

In a world of constant connectivity, a good phone stand is an essential tool. I found that many designs I tried were either too bulky for travel or too flimsy for daily use. My goal was to design a stand that strikes the perfect balance: a sturdy, adjustable holder that folds down into a slim, pocket-friendly profile.

• Adjustable Viewing Angle: The ridged back mechanism and reliable hinges let you set the perfect tilt for video calls, watching content, or following a recipe.
• Sturdy & Stable Base: Despite its small footprint, I engineered the stand to be well-balanced and securely hold a wide variety of smartphone models.

Printing Tips

I've optimised this model for a straightforward printing experience.

• Material: PLA works great (shown here in vibrant orange, blue, and grey!).
• Print Time: Approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes (even faster for the Mini version).
• Settings: Your default slicer settings should be fine. For the best results, I highly recommend slowing down the print speed on the first layer to ensure a solid foundation and perfect hinge function.
