SEASTRIKE - Bookcase Edition by RITZ GAMING

SEASTRIKE was originally based on a pencil-and-paper tactical play game and was made it into the well-known naval warefare board game in 1967. Plastic grids with holes hold plastic pegs used to record the red HIT or green MISS guesses on the naval fleet of battleships and destroyers. Each player deploys their five ships (of lengths varying from 2 to 6 squares) secretly on a square grid.

Then each player shoots at the other's grid by calling a location. The defender responds by "Hit!" or "Miss!". You try to deduce where the enemy ships are and sink them. First to do so wins.

SEASTRIKE - Command the Seas in this tactical combat BOOKCASE EDITION GAME

This Bookcase Edition of SEASTRIKE expands on the original 1967 game mechanics with the thrill of new sonar scan and air recon features. This "book" style game neatly opens up into two connected playing stations. The book hinges at the book spine and is held closed by eight D5mm x 3mm deep magnets in the corners.

All playing pieces are contained in the BOOKCASE EDITION box to be stored on the shelf with your other favorite bookcase games. Rules are provided below.

INFORMATION & ASSEMBLY
All parts were printed with PLA filament. I use a textured plate for adhesion. Some parts will need to be superglued.
1.    Align each lower board with spine and insert hinge pins (no glue). Lightly sand pin if required.
2.    Glue Lower Inserts into Lower Boards.
3.    Glue Upper Boards back-to-back using guide pins.
4.    Glue Upper Inserts into Upper Boards.
5.    Align and glue Upper Board assembly onto Book Spine.
6.    Test the hole depth for the magnets and add spacers so that magnets will be slightly raised.
7.    Glue magnets into Upper Boards first. NOTE, they will be reverse polarity on opposite sides.
8.    Test fit polarity ends and then glues magnets into lower boards.
9.    If required, lightly sand the 'tabs' on the HIT and MISS lids to adjust for a snug fit on the boxes.

HIT and MISS boxes can be left friction fit in lower boards or glued in place.

Game piece boxes can be inserted into lower boards.
Ships can be stored on the lower game boards.
If hinge pins are sliding out, add a small amount of glue to the ends only.
OPENING THE SASTRIKE GAME BOX
To open the box without spilling the contents of the game pieces:
Lay the game on the back side of the game box.
Hold the back section down and lift the middle and front sections up 90 degrees vertically.
Rotate the entire game 45 degrees on the spine so that it forms a “V” shape.
Now open the front and lay both the front and back flat.
