Description

Highly detailed historical model of the Polish destroyer ORP Piorun (1940), famous for its role in the hunt for the German battleship Bismarck. The model is designed in 1:200 scale (length ~543 mm) to accurately reflect the ship’s real dimensions.

The superstructures include a very high level of detail. Not all elements can be perfectly reproduced on FDM printers (ideally a resin printer would be used). If a ladder or other fine part breaks during support removal, it won’t affect the overall look of the ship. Railings are not included, since at this scale they are not practically printable – if someone wants them, please contact me.

For easier printing and cleaner results, the model is oriented at a slight angle to reduce sanding after support removal. It comes in two parts for smaller printers (but can also be printed in one piece on larger printers).

Print settings:

  • Hull: prints comfortably at 0.16 mm layer height
  • Superstructures: best printed at 0.12 mm for maximum detail
  • Recommended print with supports
  • Works well in PLA; finer details would benefit from resin
  • If anyone tries printing the superstructures with a 0.2 nozzle, please upload photos – I’d love to see the results!

Perfect for collectors, naval history enthusiasts, and scale modelers.
