Space Battleship Yamato Patch - Plaque & Keyring

In the year 2199, the Earth is under attack by the alien Gamilons. The surface of our world has been reduced to an irradiated desert by planet bombs, and the last survivors eke out an existence in underground cities. Humanity has very little time left – until hope arrives from a distant planet, Iscandar. The Queen of Iscandar will give the people of Earth a machine that can heal the world, provided they can make the perilous journey from Earth to her planet.

Humanity invests its precious resources in a last-ditch effort to save the Earth and all life from extinction: the Space Battleship Yamato! With the latest technology - including the Wave Motion Gun - the Yamato's crew of 999 star sailors set out on a perilous journey that touches on the mythological realm as well as being an excellent action-adventure story. 

The Space Battleship Yamato franchise is as culturally significant in Japan as Star Trek and Star Wars are in Western culture. The memorable characters – Admiral Okita, Susumu Kodai, Yuki Mori, Supreme Leader Desler, and others – are known around the world thanks to the original version being broadcast in the West under the title Star Blazers during the late 1970's. More recently, the Yamato series has been revived for the 21st Century under the title Space Battleship Yamato 2199 and is now in its fourth season on television.

The plaque and keyrings here are based on the Yamato flight patch. In the 2199 series, the Yamato operates as part of the United Nations (and later, Earth Federation) Cosmo Navy.

The large plaque is approximately 155mm tall, while the keyring version  is about 45mm tall (excluding the keyring hook). Different top patterns will produce different results: the image of three keyrings shows Archimedean Chord, Octagram Spiral, and Monotonic finishes.
