Description
This is a 3D-printable drawer designed with runners for smoother opening and closing. It includes a built-in stop to prevent the drawer from being accidentally pulled out completely. All necessary parts for assembly can be printed in one run using PLA.
For better performance, I printed the runners in TPU, which makes the drawer quieter and provides a smoother sliding experience.
Be aware that this is a challenging print due to the many small parts that must be glued together during assembly. The drawer is mounted using wood screws. To make installation easier, I created a template for pre-drilling the holes and ensuring proper spacing. Simply insert the drawer corner parts into the template and fix it flush against the table side. Once installed, the drawer closes neatly flush.

Assembly instructions
Â
Carefully remove all printed parts from the print bed and separate the smaller pieces. You will need glue for assembly—apply only a very small drop, just enough to hold the parts securely in place.
Â
Start by assembling the runners. Each runner consists of three parts: a peg, a wheel, and a spacer.
Important: the spacer must sit inside the wheel, so correct assembly is crucial. One side of the wheel has a larger cut-out designed to fit the spacer.
To assemble:
Repeat this process for all runners.

The drawer is made up of three components. For assembly, you’ll need a small amount of glue. All parts are designed to push-fit into the pre-made holes.
To assemble:
Take two runner corners and place them into the template jig. Make sure the jig sits flush against the side of the table. Mark or pre-drill the holes for the wood screws, then screw the corners in place.
Important: the drawer stops must be facing the front.
Â
Slide the drawer in over the stops. To remove the drawer, gently bend the stops outward so the drawer can pass over them.
Â
I had a leftover 22 mm oak tabletop and decided to turn it into a monitor stand. If you’d like to build something similar to hold all the drawers, it’s important to get the inner dimensions between the stand legs correct so the drawers fit inside properly. All dimensions are shown in the picture below.
