Description

🧵 Nozzle Test – Nozzle Comparison

Short Description:
A simple but effective test to compare different nozzle diameters — see how print quality, detail, and strength change with each size.

⚙️ Purpose

This model lets you visually and physically compare how nozzle diameter affects print quality and object strength.
I found that classic Benchies aren’t great for nozzle tests — this vase gives a much clearer result.

🧩 How to Use

There’s a separate print profile for each nozzle size — open them individually in Bambu Studio.
Also, don’t forget to change the nozzle diameter on your printer:
Settings → Maintenance → Nozzle Diameter
Just loading the profile isn’t enough!

Make sure the nozzle is seated properly after swapping — if you’re new to this, check the Bambu Wiki for a quick guide on safe nozzle changes.

All vases were printed in Draft Mode with larger layer heights to demonstrate how speed and quality trade off.
You can, of course, reduce the layer height for finer results — at the cost of print time.

🧪 Calibration Notes

Before printing, I performed manual flow calibration for each nozzle.
The differences in K-factor were minimal, so it’s safe to say:
👉 “Calibration matters, but not as much as you think — nozzle size does.”

The Vase Mode prints make the strength difference between nozzle sizes very obvious — you’ll feel it in your hands, not just see it in theory.

💡 Conclusions

Once you’ve printed the vases, you’ll quickly find which nozzle gives the best balance of quality, detail, and strength for your projects.

Of course, filament material also plays a role — I used Basic PLA so anyone can replicate the test easily.

As a bonus, I added an extra profile:
🧴 Perfect_Vase – optimized for the 0.8 mm nozzle with 0.24 mm layer height. For me, that’s the perfect sweet spot for vases.
