KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN AND PETS

There are plenty of 608 Bearings on MakerWorld! This isn't like the others, though. It's not Print in Place, and it requires additional materials. While those criteria make for an impressive design, this upload aims to MAXIMIZE SMOOTHNESS

  • It's a true ZZ bearing – Covers on Both Sides!
  • Almost no wiggle room!
  • Ø8mm Internal; Ø22mm Outer
  • Thickness / Width: 7mm
  • Only 2 grams per bearing! (plus 0.35g for assembly helpers)

Required Materials

  • 7x Steel Pellets (Ø4.5mm)
  • OR -- 7x Copper-coated Steel Pellets (Ø4.5mm)

Slicer Settings

  • The included print profile is heavily tested and should produce best results
  • Filament Color is up to you

Assembly

Assembly Helpers are reusable! You only need 2x Ring and 1x Moon to print multiple bearings.

  1. Ensure all parts are free of loose filament
  2. Place the inner raceway and Moon inside the outer raceway on a flat surface
  3. Insert 7x Steel pellets into the gap between the two raceways
  4. Click the inner raceway towards the center
  5. Move the pellets evenly around the raceways
  6. Pick up the raceway assembly and place it on Guide A (with 14 fins)
  7. Ensure the pellets align with the clips, and click Guide A onto the pellets
  8. Position Guide B (with 7 fins) above the assembly so that the fins align with each gap
  9. Squeeze Guide A and Guide B together, using the Ring helpers as spacers to ensure the parts fully seat.
  10. The guides should be recessed beyond the edge of the raceway
  11. Roll the bearing on a Mouse pad or similar surface, applying pressure. This will reduce the friction between each part.
