Hi everyone,
Meet ErgoGrip, a 3D printed phone grip designed to make mobile gaming, typing, and video watching more comfortable. I created this grip out of endless frustration with sore wrists after long gaming sessions.
Most phone grips attach to the sides, which never felt right for me. Nintendo Switch–style grips didn’t work either—they made it hard to move my thumbs freely across the screen. After some brainstorming, I came up with a simple idea: placing the grip underneath the phone. This lets your fingers rest comfortably behind the grip while your thumbs cover much more screen area, making gameplay, typing, and watching videos easier.
The design is hollow, so it adds only about 100 g to your phone, and the fuzzy surface gives extra grip, reducing the risk of accidental drops.
For this 3D printed part, you’ll need to add a MagSafe-style ring magnet or, as in my case, a suction cup pad to hold your phone onto the grip. Suction cup pads cost around €2 at Action or just a few cents on TEMU or AliExpress, same as the magnetic ring.
Printing is straightforward: with a 0.4 mm nozzle it takes about 2 hours 47 minutes, and with a 0.6 mm nozzle about 2 hours 10 minutes.
You could go up to 0.8 mm to save a bit more time, but I only provide profiles for 0.4 mm and 0.6 mm since the difference isn’t that significant. Both profiles are available in AMS and non-AMS versions: around 7 hours for 0.4 mm and 5 hours for 0.6 mm.
Lightweight, easy to print, and fun to use—ErgoGrip is the perfect DIY solution for gamers who want comfort, control, and a better mobile experience.
Note: This grip is suitable for phones with a display size of around 6.1 inches (e.g., iPhone 16).
