Metroid Dread Samus Aran Arm Canon for Costume

So your kid is obsessed with Metroid, eh?? (Or you've pushed these thoughts onto them, which I don't blame you for…) I hope this is what you were looking for! I couldn't find what I wanted exactly online, and this simple print should definitely fit the bill for your kids by default. 

 

Be warned, if you're on a smaller print bed, you'll need to get creative with the orientation of the print. By default, this is meant for a larger format printer to be printed in one shot; It's about 330mm tall while at the print angle we gave it.

 

 

Perfect for the H2S or any H2 series printer, this requires one nozzle, and takes about 8 hours to print with 0.4mm nozzle. The 0.6mm nozzle cuts about 50 minutes off (after changing the layer height from 0.24 to 0.30.  I'm sure a 0.8 nozzle would pull it down even further.  This green looks very emerald once printed. 

 

My child is 7ish 8ish in age. It nearly reached his elbow once his arm is inserted. There's a pole at the end on the inside that you can grab so it stays equipped easily:

 

You'll be tempted to push the “fix” button in the lower right corner of Bambu Studio to make the model more ‘corrected’. Don't do it. It will cause the inside to be more shallow, and you'll lose the ability to grab the pole inside. My daughter just makes a fist in that one to keep it from sliding off. :)
