Hairpin lace loom generator.
This hairpin lace loom generator makes two flat pieces, each with two holes. You can insert a dowel—or, as I like to do, double-pointed knitting needles—into the holes to assemble the loom. Once it’s set up, you can use the loom for crocheting beautiful items like shawls, scarves, and blankets.
With this generator, you can customize the hole size and the distance between the two holes to get the spacing you want. You can also add text on the surface to label or personalize your piece.
I’ve also included print profiles with hole diameters of 3, 4, and 5 mm, and spacing options of 5, 6, 7, and 8 cm. Some versions include text labels, while others are plain.
Parameters:
- Hole parameters:
- Hole diameter: The diameter of the holes in mm.
- Hole tolerance: A small clearance (mm) to make sure the inserted dowel fits inside the holes without being too tight.
- I usually set this value to 0.2.
- Edge to edge distance: The total distance between the outer edges of the two holes, in mm.
- For example, if value is set to 50, the outer edges of the holes will be 5 cm apart. This means the crocheted lace will be about 5 cm wide.
- Border parameters:
- Border top and bottom: The border which extends outward on the top and bottom in mm.
- Border left and right: The border which extends outward on the left and right in mm.
- Border corner radius: The border corner radius in mm.
- Set value to 0, for comletely straight corners.
- Thickness parameter:
- Loom thickness: The thickness of each flat piece that makes up the hairpin lace loom in mm.
- Text parameters:
- Add text: Adds a text to the surface.
- Text: A textbox.
- Text size: The size of text.
