Poop Chute Door for Bambu Lab X1C/P1S/P2S (Improved Sealing)

Community feedback confirms this model also fits the Bambu Lab P2S, though I haven’t been able to verify it myself yet.

 

Description:

This 3D printed door improves insulation for the filament purge chute on your Bambu Lab X1C or P1S printer. Designed to fully close by gravity, it minimizes heat loss from the chamber during printing, especially beneficial for users with cold printing environments or when printing with materials like ABS or Nylon.

 

Features:

• Gravity Operated: Door closes by itself, preventing heat loss during filament purging.
• Easy Installation: Attaches with double-sided tape (3M 5952 VHB tape recommended) for a secure and convenient installation.

Bill of Materials:

• 1mm thick double-sided tape (Bambu Lab Square Double-Sided Foam Tape 50x30 or 3M 5952 VHB recommended)
• Filament (1.7 - 1.75mm) for hinge

Important Notes:

• Use at Your Own Risk: Bambu Lab advises against modifications to the poop chute area. Use this door only if you experience significant filament purging issues.
• Filament Selection for hinge:
  • Use a straight piece of filament for the hinge. A perfectly straightened piece of filament is crucial for smooth operation and stability.
  • Ensure the filament diameter is between 1.7 and 1.75mm.
  • Tip: Experiment with different filament types to achieve optimal hinge smoothness and stability. Some users in the community have even suggested lubricating the filament hinge for an even smoother action!

 

Update:

In response to user feedback, I've created new, optimized Lightweight profiles for PLA and PETG to reduce weight. The original model was designed for ABS, so this updated version is slightly thinner and more transparent, but still maintains sufficient strength for practical use. I've been using this modified design for 2 months without any issues.
