Description
I just recently have purchased a digital copy of “Hollow Knight: Silksong”, and the game is amazing. Also, my esc Key has bothered me for quite a while, because the plastic haws cracked. So i have been searching for a solution. And after some time it came through my mind. Why not make a Hollow knight key cap and share it with you. It was also the perfect moment to do such a thing, since earlier that day my new 0.2mm stainless steel nozzle had arrived. So I hopped into Fusion 360 and modeled a first prototype. But after only 5min. I remembered why I hadn't design a key cap til then. I suck at modeling organic shapes. So I just went for the 2D version of the Hollow knight and Hornet.
The model needs a 0.2mm nozzle because the lines are relay thin, and even with “detect thin walls” enabled, the 0.4mm nozzle, just won't cut it. Also, even with a 0.2mm nozzle, “detect thin walls” needs to be enabled in order to print all the little details. Because of the curve I put on top of the key cap you won't be able to lay it on the top side. But I will release an update with flat versions of the two key caps, which hopefully will make the surfaces look more clean, reduce the printtime and will need no supports.
So, if you also think that Team Cherry has done an excellent job with their games so far and you are in bitter need of some new key caps, then give my model a try and let me know what you think about it. Happy printing :)
Boost MeI would really appreciate your help through a boost and even more through a make. thx:)License:
