Description
Tired of clutter? This 3D printable angled shelf model is the perfect solution for organizing your Bambu Lab Automatic Material System (AMS) units!
Specifically designed for the AMS2 Pro, and most likely the original AMS * this shelf offers a secure and neat home for your filament management systems.
A similar bracket for the AMS HT is currently in development.
I am aware of two variants of the AMS2 - I have a combination of each, and this shelf arm is designed to hold both universally at the same position. Note there are three “teeth” on each arm - only two are used by each variant, so it is expected if one tooth is not in contact with a vertical rib on the AMS.
There's feedback been raised that the AMS1 requires a slightly narrower bracket. User @KeKap has posted a print profile for the AMS1 which is slightly thinner and seems to work well with the unit. If you're on an older AMS - use that one, but if an AMS2 you're likely best sticking with the original model.
✅ Since this can hold roughly 8kg for a fully loaded AMS, I'd recommend using PETG.
✅ You could also use ABS, ASA, PC or another higher strength material.
🚫PLA will deform over time under pressure at relatively low temperatures, and since the outer shell of the AMS2 can get warm during dry cycles, the risk of heat deformation is quite high.
Mounting this is a reasonably simple endeavour, depending on the wall you're fixing into. I opted to mount a piece of plywood in my print workshop, since this allows for easier attachment - but you can also mount into plasterboard, brick or most other substrates. Just be sure to use an appropriate fixing - plugs, anchors etc depending on the material. I've had good experience in the past with fischer plugs.
I followed these steps:
Smaller Printers:
If you've got a printer with a smaller bed you can try the experimental option I uploaded here - it'll be a touch less strong, but it should give owners of the valiant P/X/A series a good shot at using this bracket.
